What people think about wrongfully accused inmates

In continuing my research I've found out that I am not the only person who needs to know why there are people in prison that do not need to be there. In other words wrongfully accused prisoners. There was an incident in the state of Illinois where there were over 100 people throwing a rally to release any prisoner who was accused by police because in their minds they believe that they committed the crimes that they were not even part of. One of the people who were in the rally was a women by the name of Virginia Clements, a mother whose son was arrested for something he did not do. He was incarcerated ever since his 27 year old daughter was born. Now I feel that there is someone who needs to do something about that and it is wrong for a man to never had seen his daughter be born into the world.

The people who were rallying where also there to stop the death penalty, especially for the wrongfully accused inmates. In this story of the rally there are other different stories of prisoners who are in prison for no reason because police are in such of a hurry just to arrest someone just to get a raise in there salary. That doesn't mean just pick someone of the streets that looks like they can cause trouble, just do what a police officer should do and protect and serve. This is another way that you can be wrongfully accused and it's just not right. Something needs to be done and I want to be one of those people to do something about it too.

I agree with what was said. Many people are accused of things they don't do. This has a very good point of view about how these people are treated by cops. And it's something that isn't right and it needs to be fixed. So overall this explains a lot about the things that needs to be changed.

I've been on the receiving end of being wrongfully accused - AND spent 30 days in a County jail for something that could have been settled on the scene very simply. It happened in Clayton County, Georgia in 2003 and I was arrested and jailed for not having proof of insurance on my 1992 Cadillac. The thing is - I HAD insurance but the rookie officer wanted to impress his bosses more than he wanted to actually do his job. I could have paid a fine or signed up for probation as the easy way out but I refused to and wound up spending a month in an orange jumpsuit and flip-flops, eating bologna sandwiches and taking showers with guys named "Killa" before all the noise I made was finally heeded by a judge and I was able to prove I was in there without cause. Even still, I had to pay a fine (court costs) and I recently discovered that the misdemeanor charge that was dismissed has grown into a felony that I have to spend more money on to try to have it expunged.

At the time of my arrest, I was 43 years old, had NEVER been in trouble with the law and was working for an independent Gospel record company. I lost my job, my car, my apartment, all my belongings... But, I'm still supposed to 'trust the po-po'. Sorry but once bitten, twice shy.

I agree I like hearing shows on this and some people are convicted for no reason.

Hi , I dont know if anyone will see this or hear me but Im crying out for help. My oldest sister who is now 40 yrs old is serving an 80year sentence for a crime she did not commit, has been incarecerated since the age of 22. Never accused of a crime before , we moved from Illinois to Texas and she was railroaded for injury to a child because she had no representation, a court appointed attorney and did not have a fair trial. She was sentenced to 80 years in prison and because we had no finaces to afford a good attorney. Years after her conviction her court appointed attorney was disbarred from the state of Texas for misrepresentation of clients and was suspended and placed on probabtion not to long after my sister was convicted. My sister has always been a good person and has never been in trouble with the law before this situation . If anyone can please help us , its going on 18 years and I will never give up hope until my sister is home with her family where she belongs. If you have any info on anyone that can possibly help I would greatly appreciate it. She was railroaded and no one seems to care. There is an injustice done and the state of Texas knows it but they will do nothing about it. Please help us. biancahood@aol.com
